Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) Save Lives
Our AED is available for public use while we are in the building.
Each year around 2000 New Zealanders suffer some sort of cardiac arrest (heart attack) outside of hospital. While 70% of those who suffer a heart attack will receive CPR from a passer-by, the use of an AED increases the chance of recovery by almost 50%
An AED at your Work
Although very simple to use, so that you are 100% comfortable should the need to use one arise, we offer a free course in the use of AEDs for anyone who makes use of our partnership with Alsco.
Find Your Closest AED
Of course, no matter how low the cost, not everyone has the budget to have their own AED on site, but knowing where AEDs are is a great first step.
Every Z Energy petrol station, and every Countdown supermarket have AEDs for public use, and AED Locations is a great resource with over 9,000 publicly available AEDs mapped on its website and its free app for Apple and Android.
